I think the ruling kings in ASOIAF also mostly go mad if they aren’t already, it’s just that people expect that women should be pure and innocent. Although tbf in the case of Dany specifically she does have the “going through hardship” arc that generally leads to good government in fantasy. Then again, it didn’t work for Egg either 🍳
