Hi, I’ve been meaning to ask you about the word industry. Apparently it originally was an adjective used to describe someone diligent, or, industrious, presumably at work. Does this mean that the word wasn’t related at all with ‘manufacture’? Also, if the word manufacture originally means 'made by hand’, how come it now means the opposite - an industrialised good?
