widespread consumer boycott may not be a tool to seize the means of production but that does not mean it is not worth doing. If for example widespread boycott of the beef industry is achieved making it less profitable then the environmental impact would be incredible. I don’t think rejecting the capitalist lie of “voting with your dollar” as an individual should preclude people from trying to create organized economic boycott
